About Ardmore Rock N' Ride

Ardmore Rock N’ Ride is a community fundraising event, benefiting Narberth Ambulance Emergency Services. This free, outdoor, family friendly event presented by Main Line Health, features an official USA Cycling bike race, a multi-stage concert featuring nationally renowned talent produced by Rising Sun Presents, a youth bike race, and a family fun zone. The event will also highlight Ardmore’s amazing business community, both small businesses and those associated with Suburban Square.

100% of net proceeds will benefit Narberth Ambulance, and ensure our community has access to life saving 911 services provided by highly trained professionals with state-of-the-art equipment.

CYCLING FEVER RETURNS TO ARDMORE

Join the fun as some of the top cyclists in the area head to Downtown Ardmore on Sunday, August 9 to compete in a 6 corner criterium-style race. The one mile loop through Ardmore’s business district along Lancaster Ave, Anderson Ave, Llanfair Rd, Church Rd, and finally through Suburban Square’s shopping district along Coulter Ave. Expect road closures and detours.

SPECTATE OR PARTICIPATE, EVEN THE KIDS CAN RIDE

Ardmore Rock N’ Ride isn’t just for the pros. Everyone is welcome to join the racing action for kids races (100 and 200 meters straight along Lancaster Ave), as well as a Family Race Course Experience, during which you can ride the same course as the Pros! Where Can I Park?

Via Montgomery Ave:
– Suburban Square Parking Garage (enter via Glen Rd)
– West Lot (enter via Montgomery – Racer Parking)
Via Lancaster Ave, the best parking options are:
– Cricket Avenue Garage (enter via Cricket Ave/Cricket Terrace)
– Ardmore West Lot (enter via Lancaster & Ardmore Ave)
– Street Parking throughout the south side of Ardmore
Getting to Ardmore via Train (Strongly Encouraged):
– Trains stop in Ardmore from the western suburbs and from center city hourly on Sundays, and drop right in the middle of the festival site

Are There Parking Restrictions?

– Yes! Parking within the bike race course will be prohibited. Please follow signage on the route as some spaces will be restricted as of midnight on Sunday, August 9th.
– Parking enforcement outside the race course will be relaxed during Rock N Ride, but please be respectful of residents and businesses as you navigate Ardmore.

What Road Detours Will Be Accessible to Drivers?

Montgomery Avenue will be the easiest way to navigate Ardmore while Lancaster Ave is closed on August 9th.

If traveling on Lancaster Ave heading west:
– To bypass Ardmore, turn left onto Wynnewood Rd (by Whole Foods), right onto Haverford Rd (by The Head Nut), right onto Ardmore Ave, and left onto Lancaster Ave
– To go towards Rock N Ride (Schauffele Plaza) + local businesses on the south side of Lancaster Ave, from either Wynnewood Rd OR Church Rd, turn right onto E. Athens Ave and navigate through the neighborhood.

If traveling on Lancaster Ave headed east:
– To bypass Ardmore, turn right onto Ardmore Ave, left onto Haverford Rd (by The Head Nut), left onto Wynnewood Rd, and right onto Lancaster Ave
– To go towards Rock N Ride (Schauffele Plaza) + local businesses on the south side of Lancaster Ave, turn right onto Ardmore Ave, left onto School Lane, then left onto Cricket Ave (to get to Cricket Ave South Parking Lot / Garage)

What is the timing for Rock N Ride?

Bike Races:
– 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
– Race Route: Starts on Lancaster Ave between Ardmore Music Hall and Schauffele Plaza. Racers will make right turns onto Anderson Ave, Coulter Ave, Sibley Ave, Church Rd, and back down the Lancaster Ave Straightaway

Schauffele Plaza (Live Music, Food & Bev, etc.):
– 11:30 AM – 5:45 PM
– Live Music Begins @ 12:00 PM
– Parking will be available shortly after 7PM, once the festival clears out
– Please proceed with caution as crews will be working to clear the lot, break down the stage, tents, and vendors.

Lancaster Ave (Family Fun Zone, Food & Bev, Shop The Ave)
– 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Suburban Square (Live Music, Food & Bev, Shop the Square)
– Race Spectating: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
– Live Music & Festival Vending: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
– Shopping the Square: Individual store, services, and restaurant hours may vary. Please contact merchants directly for their hours of operation.

How Do I Get to My Appointment or Shop at Local Businesses that are Impacted by Road Closures?

– Parking will be more plentiful and easier earlier in the day.
– Please plan for extra travel time, come with a plan for where to park, and how to navigate the road crossing points so you can reach your intended destination

– Pedestrians (not vehicles) can cross the bike route at the following locations:
On Coulter Ave at St. James Place
On Coulter Ave at Glen Rd (Parking Garage / Trader Joes)
On Lancaster Ave at Station Ave
– Pedestrian traffic will be open on both sides of the Anderson Ave underpass, and through Station Ave.
– Vehicles will be able to cross over Coulter Ave at Glen Rd to enter the parking lot by Trader Joes & The Ardmore Farmers Market.
